Get to know 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER.


5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is an australian band formed in Dec.2011 in Sydney.
Michael Clifford (left) is one of the two guitarists and a singer, Ashton Irwin (middle-left) is the drummer and vocalist, Luke Hemmings (middle-right) is the lead singer and the other guitarist and Calum Hood (right) is the bass guitarist.

It was originally formed with only Michael, Luke and Calum; Ashton joined the band later on,
It all began with cover videos on their Youtube channel and they quickly signed with Sony ATV Music Publishing to release their first EP, Unplugged.
But what made them famous is that Louis Tomlinson (One Direction) once shared their song Gotta Get Out .
They have been the Opening Act for One Direction's 2013 world tour and that's been one of the major events which allowed them to gain many fans.

They have released 3 albums, the latest being Youngblood released on June 17th 2018. All of those 3 albums reached #1 on Billboard charts in the US. There are also one live album, 7 EPs, 12 singles and 18 music videos.


How I got to know about 5 Seconds of Summer: I actually cannot remember! I know I saw a couple of their music videos on TV, I remember seeing She Looks So Perfect and Amnesia first. And I remember liking the songs from the first listenting. I remember thinking "they're cool, I gotta check them out". The first music video's release I've witnessed was Good Girls back in October 2014, so that was a while back. And look where I'm at now.
My favorite member is: Luke. I can't explain why, I just liked everything about him since the first time I saw a 5SOS MV. His voice is just so nice to listen to and his guitar skills are amazing! Guitarists are my weakness to be honest. That might explain why Michael is my 2nd favorite member. But let me make it clear: I love each member of the band.
My favorite single is: hard to choose haha. It's either Out Of My Limit or Jet Black Heart. Those are very different songs, but I kind of relate to both.
My favorite album is: Youngblood. All 3 albums are great but Youngblood showed how much they've growned since the beginning. There isn't one song I dislike. You really should check the album out, it's available on every platforms like Spotify or Apple Music. But Sounds Good Feels Good is a true masterpiece. Some songs on this album really have beautiful lyrics, like Jet Black Heart or Invisible.
My favorite non-single song is: Invisible. Or maybe Valentine. Invisible is from Sounds Good Feels Good, their 2nd album and I really relate to the lyrics of this song. Valentine is from Youngblood and, I don't know, I just fell in love with it as soon as I heard it.
Have I seen one or + member.s: Yes! I have! I have been to their live in Paris on April 4th (live report here) and I've seen them again on November 13th! I even bought the 155.50€ Soundcheck ticket haha. I'm not regretting, my wallet is, but not me. They also came back in June 2019, to promote their single Easier. My friend and I went out in Paris in the hope to see them. Around the middle of the afternoon, they posted a tweet, saying there'll be a private showcase later that day, and that we'd have to send an email to a certain email address, and the first 30 people to do so would attend that showcase. We walked with other fans to the Universal Studios' building where the showcase would take place, just in case, and one of them said "I got an email!!! Oh, I'm not going." so my friend and I thought we wouldn't either, they just hadn't sent the email yet. But then I got an alert, saying "BRAVO! You won a ticket for tonight's showcase." It was crazy, I was on the subway, I felt like crying, I said to my friend "I GOT IT!! I GOT THE EMAIL! I'M IN!!!" but then I realized that the odds of me and my friend getting in were small. But, a couple of minutes later, she told me she got it too!!! Crazy right ??? Anyway, we went there, it was very cozy, and intimate. They arrived casually, unannounced, and started singing. They were a meter away from me. No mics, acoustic guitars, an unplugged show that I will remember forever.

5 Seconds of Summer @ YOYO Palais de Tokyo.

It has also been a while since my last entry here, so I've decided to talk about 5SOS's live in Paris which took place on April 4th at YOYO (Palais de Tokyo). It's 7:30, my alarm clock rings. It's almost time to go. I have two classes in the morning before going to the venue. Time goes by so slowy, and finally, it is 1pm, time for me to go! In about an hour, here I am, at the venue. I am so excited! And I cannot believe I am going to see the 5 Seconds of Summer live!! But, as I arrive, I cannot see any queue line, but some fans are there. Two fans walk to me, they take my name and give me a number. And I'm like "whaat ?". Apparently, they showed up at 5pm the day before!! And they intend on giving the name&number list to the staff member who will open the doors so that no one enters before them. Hello! Project My life without music would be nothing. I never go out without my earpods. Every place is a good place to listen to music. And I listen to quite a few genres. I cannot rank my favorite bands, so this will be a simple list with no specific order. Hello! Project Hello! Project is actually a group of groups. It includes nowadays Morning Musume.'18, Angerme, Juice=Juice, Country Girls, Kobushi Factory, Tsubaki Factory and Hello! Pro Kenshuusei (trainees). I've been into Hello! Project for over eight years now. It's a huge part of my life and I love them just as much today as I did back then. The group have changed a lot over the years. Some groups disbanded, other were created, some members left their groups, other came in. It's always changing and you get to see the girls grow. They're japanese idols. Which means they're usual active between age 10 and 26 (some trainees can be younger). Their songs are often about love. But they're real...
