ANGERME @ La Cigale.

On January 28th, it was announced that they would perform overseas for the first time since the group debuted, around 9 years ago. The chosen destination: Paris, FR.
I could not believe it. It sounded so unreal. And it did take me more than 4 months to realize that it was real indeed.
June 3rd, 8:45am.
My alarm goes off.
I haven't slept enough (I celebrated my birthday the end of my first college year the night before and slept at around 4pm. oops ?) but I am so ready for this day.
It is now 9:20am when I leave the house.
The staff, 33 Degrees, said a few weeks back that they will hand out wristbands with numbers on it at 10:30am so that no one sleeps in front of the venue in order to prevent attacks like the one last month.
But by the time I got there, there were already soooo many fans queuing!! It was crazy.
People still came the day before, or during the night at around 5am.
I finally have my wristband. #181 premium.
In the end, around 260 premium and 250 standard wristbands were handed out.
There were more premium tickets sold than standard tickets, it's crazy.
Premium tickets guaranteed a handshake event with the girls and an early access to the venue and the goods.
So when I got in, I went straight to the handshake event. I didn't really want the goods (I wish I got the necklace though, that, I kinda regret), I thought being at a nice spot for the live was more important.
The handshake event was so quick but what can I say except that I cried?
You have to know, if you are not familiar with japanese idols, that meeting your favorite singer like this in your own country is pretty exceptional. I don't have the money to go to Japan, so such events are probably my only opportunity to meet my favorite singers.
The leader was the first one you'd shake hands with, then you'd meet the members from the most experienced member to the newest.
Note that this group works with "generations", the remaining member of the 1st generation is Ayaka WADA, then the members from the 2nd generation are Kana NAKANASHI, Akari TAKEUCHI, Rina KATSUTA, then there's the 3rd generation with Mizuki MUROTA and Rikako SASAKI, then comes the only 4th generation member, Moe KAMIKOKURYO, then Momona KASAHARA, the 5th generation member, then Musubu FUNAKI & Ayana KAWAMURA, 6th generation members.
Here is how it went for me:
Ayaka: I said that I loved her "Wada-san, daisuki!" and she replied "Merci!" with a genuine huge smile and a really well pronounced "r" lol
Kana: Her birthday is today, on June 4th, but it was past 7pm so it was already her birthday in Japan, so I said "Otanjobi Omedetou Gozaimasu!" and she looked very happy! Lots of fan wished her a happy birthday during the event, I'm glad she got to celebrate it here in Paris.
Akari: She immediatly noticed my blue-green hair! She loved it, she said it was cute! So I said "Arigatou gozaimasu!" And it made me truly happy. The remaining members all commented my hair, I was really glad!
Rina: She is known in the fandom to be the fashionable member. I knew she would love my hair and she did! She's not the kind of girl who smiles a lot but I saw in her eyes, and her smile, that she meant her "kakkoii!"
Mizuki: I said that I think she's really cool! She really has that cool vibe, and she also said she thought my hair look great!
Rikako: She was truly amazed by my hair! I couldn't say anything except thank you!
Moe: Aaah poor Moe! I'm pretty sure I yelled "KAMIKO DAISUKI" when she was talking about how cool my hair looked. I had no choice though. I was crying and being pushed away from her by staff members and I really wanted her to know that she was my favorite member of the group.
Momona: To be honest, I was overwhelmed by Kamiko, so I only had the chance to say thank you to her.
Musubu: She spoke English to me! She said "Oh! Cool!" With a big smile and her thumbs up. Of course, I thanked her.
Ayano: This moment made me love her more. She was the last one, there was staff member pushing me away so I got to stay a little longer with her! She said "Wow! Pretty! Green?" in English! I said yes, and I stayed for like one second looking at her smiling at me! It was amazing.

It's almost 8pm. The opening act comes on stage.
They won a cover contest on youtube, so the OA was basically one of us, fans.
I strongly disagreed with this contest thingy, I did not vote for anyone. However, they won fairly. I did not like the cover they won thanks to but they worked hard for this. It's a cover band called Amaitsuki who is, I believe, around 10 years old. Older than Angerme themselves!! I still cheered for them. It was a well-deserved win.
They sang two Hello! Project songs:
1. Oh My Wish! (Morning Musume.'15)
2. Sakura Night Fever (Kobushi Factory)
It set a cheerful mood in the audience. We are more than ready to welcome Angerme on stage now!!
10 minutes later, the lights go off again.
It is about to start.
I am about to see Angerme live. Crazy, hard to believe.
The girls come on stage and start dancing and singing.
They are so pretty, full of energy, smiling, I think they're having a hard time believing that it is happening, just like us.
They sing four songs before the first MC. It is time to wish Kana a happy birthday.
A staff member brings a cake on stage, the girls and the crowd sings, and Kananan cries. So I cried.
It truly made her happy, and emotional.
Then, the members introduced themselves in French. Some members had trouble speaking in French, like Moe. They read what they had to say on their hand, it was so cute! Some others, especially Ayaka, spoke with a great French accent! She even helped Moe and the other girls when they had trouble speaking.
The setlist was 100% Angerme songs, no S/mileage songs at all (S/mileage is the former name of the band). And it was full of energy, no ballad! It's amazing, the girls did their best for us to have the best of times.
During another MC, they talked about what they did or liked the most during their time in Paris.
Ayaka mentioned art, because she truly loves art, and her favorite painter is Edouard Manet, whose painting are exposed at the Musée d'Orsay, she got to see them! I could listen to Ayaka talk about art for hours. She's so passionate.
Akari and Rikako said that they bought nice-smelling savon (soaps), Kananan said she loved French cheese and that she'd like to move in Paris just for our cheese! Rina said that she enjoyed shopping in our shops, she said she brought lots of things.
Mizuki said she learnt many new french words, like "beau gosse!" and "belle gosse!" which means "good looking guy" and "pretty girl" but in a more familiar kind of way. She waved at lots of people in the crowd, including me. She did her best to wave at as many people as possible, it was very sweet of her!
During the encore, we sang one of their iconic song, Tomo Yo. They came back, but two of them, Rikako & Moe, stayed backstage. There were no air conditioners, so with heat, physical activity and probably lack of sleep due to jetlag, they didn't feel well by the end of the live. Unfortunately, the group took their traditional photo with the audience without them.

There's another thing to know concerning such lives. There's a tradition named "calls" which is to scream the singing member's name, jump, cheer for them differently according to the song they're singing. And there are two songs the members really wanted us to do these calls and they were Dondengaeshi where the audience is split in two, like the group, to dance during the chorus and Taiki Bansei where the audience sings the lyrics with them and jumps at some points. We did these calls (and every other calls) and they seemed so happy! I believe they weren't sure if we knew these calls, but seeing us doing them made them happy.

And I would also like to make a shout out to 33 Degrees and some fans for doing their best regarding the organization. It all went really well thanks to them.
In the end, we all had a great time this day.
June 3rd, 2018, I will remember you forever.
ANGERME, Up Front, Hello! Project, 33 Degrees, merci pour tout.
